Chemical and can be made useful in everyday

Chemical Engineering is a very interesting and fascinating field of all the branches of science and engineering. To me it truly reflects the human means such as the exploration of unknown substances, and producing valuable products out of raw materials. For this reason I want to study Chemical Engineering.
I really enjoy science because it personally interests me and can be made useful in everyday life. I have good communication skills and enjoy solving problems using precise, logical methods and would like to study a course that involves and builds on these. I have explored my interest for science and engineering by attending a few talks made by different colleges at my school such as Medical talks by University College Dublin and engineering talks by Trinity College, at my school. I also attended a Science and Engineering talk, held by different science and engineering disciplines (including Chemical, mechanical and electrical) at my school. This allowed me to see the different categories of engineering. I have communicated with a senior engineers to talk to them about their occupations and found that chemical engineering best suited my personality and interests. I have a passion for chemical engineering as chemical engineers save lives by working to prevent disease and to protect our planet.
Why I would like to do chemical engineering is because there are many career opportunities. A graduate may carry out scientific research, work as a field engineer, or work in a management position. Chemical engineers are also given the opportunity to travel all over the world. Chemical engineering offers a variety of opportunities to not only work in the lab, but also out in the field, or in scientific management. Chemical engineering is not a restrictive choice and are highly employable in many other areas because they are experienced and good at solving problems and have good analytical and management skills.
Chemical Engineering appeals to me because of the challenges involved in problem solving, I also didn’t want to be stuck in one field and Chemical engineering is a diverse topic. As a Chem Eng, you can work in many fields, such as Petroleum, petrochemical,Chemical industries, Pharmaceutical Electronics, Process design, Process control, Projects managements, Finance and economics, Bioengineering, Materials engineering and Environment.
Another reason why I want to pursue a career in chemical engineering is because, Chemical engineers improve the quality of people’s lives. Many products used by people today have been produced by chemical engineers. I want to study Chemical Engineering because it is a flexible subject which provides many opportunities to be involved in the development and manufacture of a wide range of products which is an aspect that I look forward to learning about.
I am currently taking my Irish Leaving Certificate studying: Maths, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, English, Home Economics, German and Physics. These subject’s have influenced me in my decision to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering.
A degree in this subject would give me the opportunity to contribute to quality of life around the world. The field of engineering offers a very unique appeal. In particular, the chance to study the design of chemical reactions on a large scale is what has drawn me so much to Chemical Engineering. Another reason why I want to take Chemical Engineering is because I am keen to further my knowledge and understanding of the chemical processes that go into manufacturing the products that we use in our everyday lives. For example the manufacture of medicines in the pharmaceutical industry.
I look forward to hearing back from you regarding my application.
