Like most engineers, I have dependably been interested in the working systems behind the many objects we use in our everyday lives. At school, Physics and Math’s have dependably been the subjects that I find most fascinating and in which I score higher compared to different subjects, for example, biology and chemistry. This has pushed me towards seeking after a profession in mechanical engineering. Engineering has been in my family’s DNA for a long time, and now I understand why it has gotten a handle on my consideration and interests. In my middle school ages, during an outdoors trip, my group were required to assemble numerous contraptions that would enable us to survive in the wilderness. It was an extremely pleasant and fascinating experience as it would require numerous skills, such as critical thinking, collaboration and time management skills. The assignment gave me a valuable understanding of the kinds of issues that engineers would face and utilize their insight and knowledge to conquer them. My aim for this course is to dig further into the subject and help secure a career path for me whilst enjoying what I love.
During my academic year, I have been designated as an instructor’s assistant in subjects like Maths and Information and Communication Technology, peer-mentoring lessons to children in less advanced classes, as well as marking their test papers. In addition, I am mindful that a top of the line engineer needs great collaboration skills and ready to work under strain. In fact, the skill to work in groups will be the base for success in university. I am self-assured that I can always collaborate with others. I trust that solid connections amongst engineers and organizations are vital to the improvement of modern society technologies. Studying Information Technology has helped me understand how and why mechanical engineering is used in our everyday lives and how much it contributes to other majors such as computer sciences and many types of engineering. AS and A2 Physics has taught me how things behave, and how physical properties can be used in solving both practical and theoretical problems, and in my A2 syllabus we have studied how physics is used in medicine and technology. My favorite part is the practical tasks that are required to be completed, as I enjoy using many laboratory equipment to find a conclusion to the task. Mathematics gives me the opportunity to apply taught concepts to many situations.
Aside from my school work, I have participated in numerous community service events, for example, charity organizations and hospital service events that demonstrated to me the many instruments utilized in medicine that require engineering knowledge and I have taught other people how simple they were to use and become used to. These occasions have additionally shown me different approaches to communicate and understand individuals’ needs as it is essential for many engineering roles, where it is required to understand the customer or client and be capable help them in an ideal way that could be available.
During my extra time I enjoy playing football at my school where I was and as of now the team captain 4 years in a row. My position empowers me to give arranges and to be strategically decisive. This has certainly made me more responsible now that I know my decisions have a direct consequence of the mindset and morale of my team. I even enjoy traveling as I have traveled to many places throughout my childhood from many countries in Africa and Asia and hopefully the UK and Europe, and going to these spots have demonstrated to me the role of engineers in various districts of the world.
My outcomes so far in my IGCSE exams and A-Level studies have built my confidence, provided me with a wide arrangement of practical skills, expanded my perspectives in a wide range of subjects and furnished me with the inspiration to think about engineering. I trust that I have acquired all the necissary skills and the attitude to help me all through out and even after this course and I trust that a degree from your university will be the ultimate foundation for an adventure to becoming a great engineer.
